Ribbon Dying Using Chalks

Good Morning Crafters and Stampers,
I thought I would share a tutorial I found on SplitCoast Stampers with you today. The product highlight is on the Stampin'Up Chalks. Picture this, you have made a card and you don't have the ribbon to match, well, this is what you can do. This is what you will need:

White grosgrain ribbon
Pastels
Sponge daubers
Acrylic sealer
Step-by-Step

Step 1
Cut desired length of ribbon. 18" is manageable, as this can get messy.

Use firm pressure to apply pastel with a sponge dauber.

Go back and forth until you achieve the color you want.

Step 2
Flip the ribbon over and apply a different color of pastel with another sponge dauber.

Step 3
Once both sides of the ribbon are covered evenly, brush off any excess pastel powder with a large brush or a paper towel.

Place the ribbon on scrap paper or cardboard and spray lightly with acrylic sealer.

Warning:
Use acrylic sealer in a well-ventilated area or outside as the fumes from the sealer are very strong.

Step 4
Once the ribbon is dry (a few seconds should be enough), flip the ribbon over and spray again.

Add it to your card and you are done!

Have fun trying this and keep on creating and stampin',
Sandy
