Clean and Simple...Part 2

Hi Stamping Friends,
Are you ready for Part 2 for CAS (clean and simple cards? Now lets talk about Embellishments. I’ve seen people explain CAS by saying the cards don’t have ribbon or brads or patterned paper on them. That’s just not true. They can have any or all of those things on them, even at the same time. It’s not likely there will be several different patterned papers on one card. Maybe you have a ribbon and a brad but not a bow. Maybe there’s a ribbon and bow but no patterned paper. It’s about editing. When in doubt, take one element out. Earlier I shared a card with the hearts on it, here is another one putting on a few embellishments, dressing it up just a little. The card is still clean and simple. Remove the ribbon add a matt and embellish with some pearls and rhinestones and you have a totally different card but still CAS.

Now lets talk about Layers. Do CAS cards use layers? Absolutely. you still want to make your focal point pop. You want your elements to stand out. Layers add depth and definition without adding distraction. Layers are good.

Now for my upcoming Clean and Simple Monday's. Starting in February, every First and Third Monday I will post a CAS Sketch along with a sample card. I hope you will get involved and play along. When you finished your card send me a link to your post or e-mail me a picture of your card and I will add it to my blog. I'm hoping to make this fun and get you to participate. I will be posting the first sketch on Monday Feb. 6th so stay tuned and let's have some fun...

Creating with you,
Sandy
